Certified ScrumMaster Training Summary

This two-day course covers the fundamentals of Scrum and Agile methods through to planning and managing your project. The agenda covers the Scrum framework meetings such as the daily scrum, Sprint planning and the retrospective.

It will show you how to effectively track your project using burndown charts and how to measure velocity for release planning.

Certified ScrumMaster Training Objectives

This hands-on, interactive two-day course will teach you:

  • How to be an effective Scrum Master
  • Improve teamwork
  • Launch products sooner
  • Improve engineering practices to deliver high-quality products

Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will be enrolled as a Certified ScrumMaster, which includes a one-year Scrum Alliance membership, where additional ScrumMaster-only material and information is available.

Applicable to all levels and roles including Managers, Designers, Developers, Testers, Executives, Project Managers and IT.

Certified ScrumMaster Training Prerequisites

No prior knowledge of Scrum or Agile methods is required although some prior reading is recommended. A good getting started guide can be found at www.scrumprimer.com.

Additional Notes for Certified ScrumMaster Training

Participants will receive the course materials in a printed and bound handout. Continental breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks will be served.

About the Instructors

Dr. Jeff Sutherland is the co-creator of Scrum and was a signer of the Agile Manifesto, which marked the start of the Agile movement. He began his career as a fighter pilot in the US Air Force, and went on to join the faculty at the University of Colorado Medical School as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Sutherland has served as VP of Engineering or CTO at ten software companies, managing the last four entirely using Scrum, and achieving industry-leading, hyper-productive results.

Gabrielle Benefield is a Certified Scrum Trainer offering courses in the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand through Kanjeo. Gabrielle was Senior Director of Agile Development at Yahoo! leading Yahoo!’s large-scale corporate adoption of Scrum, which now encompasses more than 200 teams projects and over 1500 employees in the US, India, Europe, and Asia. She is co-author of The Scrum Primer (www.scrumprimer.com).
