Additional Notes for Project Management Training

Rather than employing mere lecture sessions, we employ hands-on problem solving using case studies and computer exercises using Microsoft project. During the 5 days, you will spend bulk of your time working on hands-on problem solving using case studies and computer exercises. This hands-on approach gives you the best opportunity to acquire skills that otherwise would take months to master. The following three dimensions distinguish our teaching method:

Case studies: You will be given case studies that will serve as the context for most of the exercises in the course. The case study project provides a basis for practicing new tools and techniques.

Hands-on problem solving: Work individually and on a team to develop Work breakdown structure (WBS), constructing Network and Gantt models from the WBS model, developing project plan, Resource management, Time management, Risk management and Status report for project schedule and budget.

Microsoft Project exercises: The case study analysis is followed by building the MS Project models. This enhances the participants understanding of the techniques and concepts learnt in lecture & case study discussions by experiencing their application in PM systems environments.
